ORCID utilizes the BibTeX format for all HeinOnline works pushed to ORCID profiles. BibTeX is a portable citation format that can be transformed into the desired format by integrations and authors. It’s supported by most reference managers and publishing platforms, as well as HeinOnline.
ORCID states: “We appreciate that Bluebook would be useful for the U.S. law community and that it contains specialized features not found in more general-purpose citation formats. However, there are over 2,000 citation styles, including many other law formats, and unfortunately, we cannot support them all. We try to use open/common practices for everything we do at ORCID, so it can meet the needs of researchers internationally and in all subject areas.”
