Some users working in the Windows Vista operating system have experienced problems saving a PDF once it has been downloaded and open on their desktop. To work around this problem, please perform the following steps in your Adobe Acrobat/Reader software:

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat/Reader.
  2. Click the Edit menu and select Preferences.
  3. Select “Internet” in the left-hand panel of the Preferences window.
  4. Uncheck the “Display PDF in browser” option.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Close Adobe Reader.

When downloading a PDF from HeinOnline, it will now open in Acrobat separately from the web browser and you will be able to save the file.
