HeinOnline’s Tip of the Week: How to Print the Electronic Table of Contents for a Volume

When you are viewing a journal article or other document in HeinOnline, you can view an electronic table of contents by clicking on the “Table of Contents” tab at the top of the page. When you click on this tab, it loads the table of contents for the current volume that you are viewing in the left menu. Some of you have asked if you can print out the electronic table of contents, therefore, this week we are going to walk through three easy steps to print this out.

1. To print the electronic table of contents for the volume you are viewing, click on the “volume detail” link that is displayed in the navigation trail. The navigation trail is displayed directly above the primary viewing window and displays the path you took to get to the page you are viewing. It will always begin with Libraries followed by the collection you are using. The “volume detail” will list the volume number, title and year of the volume you are viewing and typically will be the last thing displayed in this trail. In the below example, the volume detail is displayed as 23 Akron Tax J. (2008). Click on this “volume detail” and the electronic table of contents will load in the primary viewing window.

2. From here, click on “printer friendly” in the upper right hand corner of the screen to make the screen suitable for printing.

3. Then choose the print option from your browser menu.
